Area of responsibility
Responsible for the accurate control, issue and storage of labels, packaging materials and goods within the label room and stores areas. The role is key to maintaining inventory integrity, supporting production needs and ensuring traceability and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Specific tasks:
• Receive, inspect and verify labels and packaging materials upon delivery
• Store products and materials in designated areas with correct labelling and organisation
• Prepare and issue stock to departments based on requisitions
• Maintain accurate label/packaging inventory records in systems or logs
• Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with full stocktakes
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the store and warehouse in line with GMP or quality standards
• Liaise with QA/QC or compliance teams to ensure traceability and correct record keeping
• Operate warehouse equipment (pallet trucks, reach trucks, ppt only if trained/licensed)
• Assist in maintaining quality compliance BRC/HACCP/GMP etc in all store activities
• Ensure that Health and Safety standards are upheld
• Ensure all regulatory requirements are maintained
• Ability to be flexible and adapt to change as required
Job Requirements
• Demonstrable experience as a store operative, preferably in a fast-paced food processing industry
• Knowledge of inventory management principles and best practices
• Previous experience in a label room, warehouse, or stores role preferred
• Strong numeracy, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Reach truck licence required
• Effective organisation and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Awareness of food safety and hygiene requirements
