The Procurement Specialist is responsible for executing sourcing activities and leading commercial negotiations to secure optimal value for the organisation. The role focuses on managing local supplier relationships, driving competitive sourcing processes, and delivering cost, quality, and risk improvements within defined categories or spend areas.

What you will be doing
Sourcing & Supplier Selection
- Lead sourcing activities for goods and services not covered by global agreements or requiring local adaptation.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard qualified suppliers in alignment with business requirements and procurement governance.
- Conduct market analysis to understand supplier capabilities, cost drivers, and industry trends.
- Develop and maintain a competitive supplier base to ensure continuity of supply and flexibility.
Negotiation & Commercial Management
- Own and lead negotiations with suppliers on pricing, payment terms, service levels, and contractual conditions.
- Achieve measurable cost reductions and value improvements through structured local negotiation strategies.
- Balance commercial outcomes with risk, quality, and supply security considerations.
- Define and agree commercial frameworks for locally sourced goods and services within delegated authority.
Category & Spend Support
- Support Category Management by executing sourcing strategies at a local or regional level.
- Analyse spend data to identify opportunities for consolidation, standardisation, and cost optimisation.
- Contribute to the development of sourcing strategies through insights on supplier markets and pricing dynamics.
- Manage defined spend areas independently, ensuring alignment with broader procurement objectives.
Supplier Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with key local suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance against agreed commercial and operational targets.
- Drive supplier development initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
- Act as the primary contact for commercial discussions and relationship management within assigned scope.
Risk & Compliance Management
- Assess and mitigate sourcing risks related to supply continuity, cost volatility, and supplier dependency.
- Ensure all sourcing activities comply with procurement policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support due diligence and supplier approval processes in collaboration with Group Procurement.
- Maintain accurate documentation of sourcing events, supplier evaluations, and negotiation outcomes.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into sourcing strategies.
- Provide commercial guidance and market insights to support decision-making.
- Align sourcing activities with operational, technical, and financial requirements.
- Act as a trusted advisor on supplier selection and negotiation approaches.
What you will bring
- Demonstrated experience in procurement, sourcing, or commercial roles.
- Proven track record in supplier negotiations and sourcing execution.
- Experience managing local or regional supplier markets an advantage.
- Strong understanding of cost structures and commercial levers.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Negotiation and influencing skills.
- Strong analytical capabilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Ability to assess supplier capabilities and commercial risk.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to translate business needs into sourcing actions.
