Planner | Rochdale

Are you a sharp, fast-thinking supply chain professional ready to translate customer demand into action? Join us in ensuring the right materials are always in the right place to keep our production moving and our innovation thriving.

What you will be doing

As our new Planner, you aren’t just moving numbers around a spreadsheet; you are the heartbeat of our production floor. You will join a dynamic supply chain team where your day-to-day decisions directly impact our efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Your typical day will include:

  • Forecasting for Success: Using historical data and production schedules to develop accurate inventory forecasts that keep us ahead of the curve.
  • Managing the Pipeline: Raising, scheduling, and maintaining Purchase Orders (POs) while collaborating closely with suppliers to guarantee our materials arrive exactly when they are needed.
  • Optimising Inventory: Monitoring stock levels and finding smart ways to reduce waste and obsolete items.
  • System Integration: Navigating our current ERP systems and playing a vital part in our upcoming move to a full SAP environment.
  • Fuelling Innovation: Partnering with our NPD (New Product Development) team to coordinate materials for exciting new product launches and artwork updates.
  • Problem Solving: Analysing data to spot trends and recommending ways we can work even smarter.

What you will bring

We are looking for a detail-oriented individual who thrives when things move quickly. You should be a proactive problem-solver who enjoys working collaboratively.

  • The Experience: You have spent 3+ years in a materials planning or inventory role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Savvy: You are a Microsoft Excel pro and have a solid understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and ERP systems like SAP.
  • Communication Skills: You can build strong relationships with both internal teams and external suppliers to get the job done.
  • The Right Mindset: You are organised, analytical, and able to stay focused even when priorities shift in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bonus Points: If you hold an APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) or have experience with Lean manufacturing principles, we definitely want to hear about it.
