Line Support Operative - Production Both Shifts | Rochdale

 

The Line Support Operative is responsible for ensuring the continuous and accurate supply of Raw materials, packaging, and equipment to and from production lines, supporting efficient and uninterrupted operations. The role involves maintaining system accuracy through Arolink, adhering to FIFO principles, and ensuring correct BBE control to uphold product quality and traceability. It also includes completing quality documentation, monitoring food safety standards, and operating material handling equipment safely, while working closely with Line leaders and Area Supervisors to meet production and compliance requirements.

 

What you will be doing

 

  • Ensure timely and accurate supply of Raw materials and packaging to production lines, following FIFO (First In First Out) principles using Arolink system.
  • Accurately Input and manage materials and product movement within Arolink, including applying concessions and ensuring correct BBE (Best Before End) dates are recorded.
  • Liaise with relevant Line leaders & Supervisors to confirm and apply correct BBE data to all products and raw material.
  • Maintain clear accurate written logs of all activities
  • Complete E-smiley quality logs related to Raw material handling, packaging and compliance.
  • Support delivery and removal of all other materials that could impact on the production process.
  • Accurately complete returns and finished Goods output registrations in Arolink.
  • Complete written pallet logs for all finished goods and materials
  • Carry out and record routine temperature checks on raw material to ensure food safety and quality standards are met.
  • Maintain full pallet traceability by ensuring all labels, including SSCC, are accurate, correctly applied, and remain with the product throughout the process.

 

 

What you will bring

 

  • Basic understanding of food safety, hygiene, and quality standards (e.g. FIFO, BBE,HACCP)
  • Experience working in a fast-paced production or food manufacturing environment (preferred)
  • Ability to accurately use systems such as Arolink for stock control and traceability
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when handling dates, labels and quality records.
  • Good communication skills to liaise effectively with Line leaders and Area Supervisors.
  • Ability to complete accurate documentation and quality logs (e.g. eSmiley, pallet logs, temperature checks)
  • Physically fit and capable of manual handling, including moving high volumes of pallets per shift.
  • Valid licences or training to operate equipment such as PED Stack trucks and counterbalance.
  • Good understanding of Health and Safety procedures in a production environment.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and maintain production flow with minimal downtime
