Hygiene Supervisor AM | Rochdale
Ensure the highest standards of food safety and hygiene are consistently met, leading a dedicated team to maintain a pathogen-free environment in our state-of-the-art facility.
What you will be doing
As the AM Hygiene Supervisor, you will spend approximately 80% of your time on the factory floor, directly managing a team of Hygiene Specialists and Operatives. Your primary goal is to ensure a comprehensive cleaning service that complies with HACCP, COSHH and Health & Safety regulations.
Daily responsibilities include:
- Team Leadership: Managing all HR aspects for your team, including development, attendance and motivation, while maintaining a robust skills matrix for succession planning.
- Operational Excellence: Liaising with production planners to schedule cleaning windows that minimise downtime and ensure "on time in full" service delivery.
- Quality Control: Conducting frequent audits, utilising ATP swabbing to monitor sanitisation standards and maintaining visual management systems to track performance.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensuring all staff are fully trained in core skills (CICs, CCPs, H&S) and overseeing the safe use of chemicals and equipment dismantling.
- Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for innovation in cleaning methods and working cross-functionally to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
What you will bring
We are looking for a dynamic and assertive leader who is passionate about technical quality and food safety. You should be a proactive problem-solver who can interpret data to drive performance improvements.
- Hard Skills: NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification, strong numerical and verbal reasoning and excellent IT skills.
- Experience: A deep understanding of site hygiene requirements, food safety standards and experience managing large-scale cleaning operations within a regulated environment.
- Soft Skills: Highly developed communication and influencing skills, a "lead by example" mentality and the ability to exercise fairness and equity when managing team conflict.
