Sustainable Packaging Program Manager

Bringing the strategy for sustainable packaging to life
Danish Crown is committed to deliver high-quality & sustainable food packaging solutions, that elevates food safety, prevents food waste and lowers the CO2 footprint. We have outlined a winning strategy focusing on using innovation and the best technology available at any time to deliver on this promise. We are looking for a new colleague to drive this critical agenda across business units and country borders. 
As our new Program Manager, you will drive key initiatives to transform packaging in Danish Crown. You will play an important role in securing our targets of reducing our packaging by 15% in 2025 and 30% by 2030.


Define and implement strategic initiatives within packaging solutions

You will work in five defined strategic focus areas: Food Safety, Food Waste Prevention, Climate, Partnerships and Production Capabilities. The areas go across the full value chain and will expose you to a large network of stakeholders spanning from production to marketing and product development. You will be responsible for the implementation of the strategy, the communication of the strategy as well as the annual reporting. Your job is to have the finger on the pulse regarding latest technologies and materials, enabling you to become the subject matter expert in our organisation.

 

Concretely, your tasks will be to:

•    Ensure that the Sustainable Packaging strategy progresses according to defined plan
•    Ensure up to date pipeline of projects to reach Sustainable Packaging targets
•    Build and drive business cases around sustainable packaging initiatives
•    Develop a process for conducting in-house LCA analysis of packaging materials
•    Understand implication and mitigation to upcoming EPR and packaging regulations
•    Ensure annual reporting of progress against the sustainable packaging baseline


The position as Program Manager will naturally provide you with exposure to many stakeholders in the organisation. You will find rich opportunity to further develop your holistic business understanding as well as build relations with different professions both within and outside Danish Crown. 

 

Strong supply chain understanding and a project manager mindset

There are numerous entries to this position. You could come from a senior project manager position working with complex projects across the supply chain. You could also come from a position as senior specialist within packaging with a motivation to improve your project management skills.


We imagine that you hold a relevant master’s degree within the operations/supply chain field combined with 3-5 years’ experience in an international production company. You are experienced within building business cases, conducting analysis, and you know how to navigate in complex landscapes with a diverse stakeholder map.


You possess solid stakeholder management skills, and it comes natural for you to build and maintain good relations. You understand how to build your arguments and business cases on solid analysis. You have the courage to challenge status quo and ask the key questions. Finally, you are used to navigating in an international environment, and you are proficient in English orally and in writing.
