Danish Crown Group Functions

DK-Randers

Strategic Procurement Intern

Are you studying a master's degree in supply chain management, logistics or the like - and would you like to join a strategic journey within procurement in one of the largest food companies in the world? Then you might be the new Strategic Procurement Intern we are looking for!

As our new intern, you’ll become part of our central procurement organization, which is responsible for entering into agreements with suppliers for the entire group. You’ll become an active player in a strategically rooted group function that has both commercial goals and a goal of building a "best in class" purchasing organization. You will be affiliated with the food-category, consisting of six people, which negotiates all food and casing agreements - except meat.

Get to know the entire strategic procurement process

During your internship, you will be assigned to one or two major projects that you, in collaboration with a Category Manager, must work on. It is important to us that you master our entire procurement process after your internship; therefore, you’ll solve your tasks by going through all the processes and workflows in strategic procurement that we - and many other large companies - work with on a daily basis.

In practice, your daily function will be as a buyer, but you will be given a mentor, who on both a professional and personal level, will teach you and make sure that you develop the necessary skills during your internship.

Systematic, thoughtful - and a passion for numbers

You are pursuing a master's degree within supply chain management, logistics or the like. Relevant experience from e.g. student jobs or volunteering will be an advantage. The most important thing is that you have a passion for numbers and a great willingness to learn. It is a must that you master English at the negotiating level - if you additionally speak Polish and / or German it will be a big plus, but not a requirement.

You work systematically and have a strong focus on ensuring accuracy in the tasks you solve. You are not afraid to challenge the status quo and are motivated by the opportunity to gain new knowledge and become more proficient.

The practicalities

The internship is conducted in the fall of 2020 - we imagine that you start mid-August / early September and finish the internship before the Christmas holidays, but the final duration and hours are planned to suit your studies. We offer to cover some of your expenses in regard to transportation, lunch etc.

Further information

Please do not hesitate to contact Category Director, Henrik Skov Madsen on (+45) 40 18 65 42 to learn more about the internship.

Send your resumé and application as soon as possible, as we review all candidates on an ongoing basis. The deadline is April 5, 2020, but we reserve the right to stop the search once we’ve found the right candidate.

We are creating a more sustainable future for food. Danish Crown produces more than 10 billion meals a year for people all over the world. We will reduce the carbon footprint by 50 % by 2030 and be climate neutral by 2050. We promise that we will lead the changes in the food industry.
