Senior Group Data Privacy Manager 

Are you interested in bridge-building between high-level data privacy policies and global practical implementation of structures, systems, and guidelines? We want to strengthen our legal department with a Group Data Privacy Manager to ensure compliance with applicable data privacy regulations on a global scale.
As Group Data Privacy Manager, you will report to the VP, Group General Counsel, and join Group Legal, where you will be a part of a team of 6 highly skilled colleagues. Here you assume the responsibility for the Danish Crown Group´s data privacy function to ensure that we as a business always understand and live up to applicable data privacy regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In doing so, you will work closely with our commercial functions (e.g. Sales, Marketing, and Innovation) and our back-office functions (e.g. HR, Finance, and IT) and provide oversight, expertise, guidance, and training on data privacy protection activities related to our business.

Your overall goal is to guide your colleagues in all matters relating to data privacy protection and take an active part in the decision-making process. You will be involved in both strategic projects as well as daily operations. As our Group Data Privacy Manager, you will therefore amongst others be responsible for:


  • Cooperation with senior management to determine the level of compliance
  • Drafting new and amending existing internal data protection policies, guidelines, and procedures to achieve the agreed level of compliance
  • Providing expert advice, education, and training to colleagues on important data privacy protection requirements
  • Securing data privacy governance based on relevant legislation and industry best practices, including identifying, optimizing, and auditing data privacy protection processes
  • Identifying, assessing, and managing data privacy protection risks
  • Continuous improvement of our data privacy protection management system 
  • Maintaining records of data processing activities carried out by the Danish Crown Group
  • Implementation and follow-through on necessary control measures to ensure an agreed level of compliance
  • Conducting audits to ensure compliance and address potential issues proactively
  • Monitoring performance and providing advice on the impact of data privacy protection efforts
  • Reporting to senior management on compliance and risk
  • Serve as the point of contact between the Danish Crown Group and data protection authorities
  • Cooperation and guidance for data subject requests with data supervisors and data subjects
  • Strong process- and project management skills and an outgoing mindset

We are looking for an independent, proactive, and solution-oriented person, who can work on both a strategic, tactical, and operational level and has and the ability to drive projects forward. That’s why you as a person are outgoing and good at creating and maintaining strong and trustful relations. You are a dedicated team player who enjoys working with people from different cultures and educational backgrounds, and always you seek to build and improve relations with the business and your stakeholders in general. To be successful in the role, you need to have strong project management skills, experience in process design and documentation, and be well versed in rolling out processes in a multinational organization with different cultures. 

You have some knowledge of GDPR and local laws on data privacy protection and experience in the interpretation and communication of legal content, combined with strong business acumen and commercial understanding. Preferably you have some knowledge about risk-based controls and auditing as well as risk mitigation. Knowledge of data protection in data systems and data transfer methods will be considered an advantage.


We see that you:


  • Hold a master’s degree in law, business administration, information technology management, or similar
  • Have a minimum of 5-8 years of experience from a similar role with experience in European and Danish data privacy matters – experience with other privacy laws is an advantage
  • Speak and write English effortlessly – and preferably Danish as well
