Senior Category Director, Convenience 


Do you want to write the next chapter for food? There is nothing textbook about changing our industry. That is why we need you to spearhead our new global category, Convenience including plant-based products and snacks as well. 


As part of our Feeding the Future strategy we have created a new unit called Danish Crown Categories. With the new Categories unit, we will increase focus on innovation, sustainability, special concepts and developing our strategic product ranges. In addition, we have special focus on Convenience for which we are looking to add a Senior Category Director.


Strategic category development and performance
You will be responsible for developing and implementing an ambitious global category strategy, setting the strategic targets, and driving business performance across countries and markets. Ensuring strong local buy-in and global innovation initiatives are key elements for success in the role. Among other things your tasks will be to:

  • Develop and lead the global category vision and strategy with focus on scalability
  • Increase value creation by commercialising sustainability
  • Drive insights and develop an innovation pipeline, while driving synergies cross markets
  • Facilitate best practice sharing and keeping in touch with consumers’ and customers’ needs and trends
  • Drive initiatives to secure capacity, drive business cases and identify relevant M&As 
  • Ensure framework, guidelines, and policies for local market execution in line with global strategy. 


You will be working from our headquarters in Randers, but another location could also be an option and some travel activity is required (up to 50 days per year)


We are right now building the function – we expect you to create a strategic direction for the area and to find and employ a small team to support the journey.


FMCG experience and strong stakeholder management skills
You have experience within FMCG and a keen interest in the food industry. Having a global and strategic mindset is important as well as thriving in a complex matrix organisation. Ability to create followership across the organization and on several levels is a must to succeed.


Experience within brand development, business development, strategy and/or marketing is key. Just as excellent people and stakeholder management skills are important. You add value to the business and your teams in both your direct and indirect leadership.  


Additionally, we expect that you have a proven record within both developing and executing in a complex stakeholder landscape.
