Senior Finance Project Manager

As Senior Finance Project Manager, you will join our Global Finance Team and take a leading role in driving strategically important finance initiatives across the organisation. You will work closely with senior finance leaders and business stakeholders to deliver projects that improve financial processes, strengthen governance, increase transparency, and support better decision-making across the Group.
This is not a traditional project management role. We are looking for someone who brings a strong finance foundation and expertise and can apply that knowledge to drive complex projects and initiatives across a broad range of finance disciplines. Ideally you have experience in implementing a new finance operating model.
You will be a trusted Project Manager to senior stakeholders where you build credibility through your financial expertise and your ability to influence, align, and create momentum without relying on formal authority.
Your responsibilities
- Drive finance projects from start to finish through implementation, ensuring clear objectives, governance, milestones, and business outcomes.
- Responsible for identifying and delivering improvements across finance processes, governance, and performance management in close collaboration with senior finance leaders and business stakeholders
- Lead projects within areas such as financial planning and analysis, management reporting, finance operations and controls, treasury, tax and master data governance.
- Improve the quality, transparency, and effectiveness of financial information used for decision-making.
- Establish clear project plans, managing risks and dependencies, and ensuring strong execution throughout the project lifecycle.
- Drive process standardisation and continuous improvement across finance functions.
- Support the development of best practice finance processes, systems, data structures, and reporting frameworks.
- Collaborate with finance specialists, operational teams, functional leaders, and external partners.
- Provide fact-based recommendations and translating complex financial and operational challenges into practical solutions.
- Ensure transparency and clear communication on progress, risks, decisions, and outcomes.
Who are you?
You are a seasoned finance project manager with experience across key finance disciplines. You have a proven track record of leading complex global finance projects and driving improvements across organisations, often in environments with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
You are a strong communicator and comfortable operating in ambiguity, creating structure where direction is not yet fully defined, and turning complex challenges into clear plans, decisions, and outcomes.
Your strong analytical skills enable you to identify root causes, challenge existing practices, and develop pragmatic solutions that create lasting business value. You combine strategic insight with a hands-on approach, allowing you to move seamlessly between shaping direction and driving execution. You have experience with AI, automation and digital finance solutions.
You also bring:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree within Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Auditing, or similar financial field.
- Strong project management toolbox (eg including PRINCE2 or PMP certification) and proven track record of managing complex projects, preferably within finance transformation or operating model implementation.8+ years of experience from Finance Transformation, PMO, Finance Consulting, Shared Services, or a similar environment.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Danish is an advantage.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA or comparable large-scale ERP transformation programs, particularly within finance processes, governance, reporting, master data, or controls, is highly desirable.
