Senior Category Manager, Logistics

We are currently seeking an experienced senior category manager to build the category strategies, and drive value creation in close collaboration with strategic suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Danish Crown Group Procurement is changing direction into a much more SRM focused approach towards our biggest suppliers. We are looking for a new colleague with solid SRM experience who wants to implement category strategies and orchestrate successful cooperation between strategic suppliers and Danish Crown.

You take ownership of your own category
In this position we search for a self-driven Senior Category Manager, who can lead the Sea Freight and Transport materials categories. With steady hands you take lead in defining and implementing category strategies aligned to business needs and deliver on both value and ESG targets for the categories. You have a natural data driven approach. You gather and evaluate facts and engage internal stakeholders to define the relevant projects and strategies. You are comfortable presenting category strategies to key senior stakeholders and in taking lead on the implementation with stakeholders and suppliers.

Your primary tasks will be:
•    Develop a strategy for your category together with your stakeholders 
•    Independently plan and carry out on the strategy for the category 
•    Implement sourcing-projects in your category with support from our Sourcing PMO where relevant
•    Prepare tender materials and complete supplier negotiations 
•    Develop and optimize the category and the supplier relations
•    Conduct complex data analysis
•    Drive supplier relationship management on selected strategic suppliers

You will work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, meaning you are fostering good and open collaboration across teams and business areas The category responsibility covers all 6 Danish Crown business units.

You have a commercial education and several years of experience from a similar position as, 

•    Responsible for Sea and Transport materials categories 
•    Responsible for developing and implementing category strategies in own categories in close collaboration with relevant stakeholders
•    Responsible for Supplier Relationship Management on strategic suppliers
•    Responsible for driving performance and value creation in own categories in collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders

We expect that you: 

•    Have strong skills and proven track record delivering solid results within Category Management, Supplier Relationship Management and Contract Management 
•    Have experience in complex data management and has solid analytical skills 
•    Have a solid business understanding and a strategic mindset 
•    Enjoy working with procurement models and are familiar with Power BI, PowerPoint and Excel. 
•    Communicate effortlessly in English and Danish; both oral and written 

The ideal candidate has a solid business understanding and great skills in developing category strategies, Supplier Relationship Management, Category Management, Contract Management and Supplier Innovation and is highly experienced in cross-functional collaboration. Furthermore, if you work data driven with a strategic focus, and if you have experience with complex data management and are result-oriented and strong-willed with a high level of energy and an optimistic mind, it´s close to being the ideal match.
