Danish Crown is transitioning toward a unified, end‑to‑end procurement setup designed to increase efficiency, enhance transparency, and ensure consistent, high‑quality procurement processes across the entire group.
This new direction strengthens our ability to deliver strategic value by standardizing processes, improving data quality, leveraging scale, and ensuring that procurement becomes a true competitive advantage.
To support this, we are looking for a Head of BU Procurement Operations who will play a key role in anchoring our global standards at Business Unit level while enabling strong day‑to‑day execution and meaningful collaboration with local teams and Group Procurement.
Leading Procurement Operations with Clarity, Accountability, and Performance
As Head of BU Procurement Operations, you ensure that procurement operations are professional, efficient, compliant, and value‑adding. You act as the primary procurement interface for BU management, balancing local needs with the global procurement strategy.
You will lead the Business Unit’s procurement function and hold direct people management responsibility for the operational buyers across the BU’s sites. You ensure that daily procurement operations run efficiently, professionally, and in full alignment with Group Procurement standards. You develop, coach, and performance manage your team, fostering a culture of clarity, accountability, and high performance.
You will take responsibility for procurement performance management across the BU, tracking savings, KPIs, and cost development to ensure transparency and continuous improvement. Finally, you will safeguard full compliance by embedding procurement policies, governance structures, and internal controls across all procurement activities, securing a robust and reliable way of working.
This role will be taking on our Industry department which covers our fresh factories located across Denmark, Germany and Poland. Procurement Operations will oversee approx. 65.000 purchase orders across these local sites per year.
You will also:
- Secure accurate and compliant purchasing activities across SAP and Jaggaer and guarantee that Source to Order processes are executed effectively.
- Manage supplier performance - monitoring service levels, escalating issues when needed, and supporting local initiatives within the agreed category frameworks.
- You will act as a strategic partner to the BU management, translating Group Procurement strategies into concrete local plans that deliver value.
Who are we looking for?
- 5+ years of procurement experience including leadership
- Strong understanding of sourcing, category management, and purchasing processes
- Ability to navigate matrix organizations and manage diverse stakeholders
- Strong digital and system skills (SAP, Jaggaer)
- Structured, proactive, improvement‑oriented mindset
- Inclusive leadership style and strong communication skills.
- Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing. Danish speaking will be an advantage.
