IT Senior Project Manager 

Do you want to be part of Danish Crown’s new Feeding the Future strategy that will have a significant impact on our way to deliver IT projects? And can you lead highly complex IT projects in a complex environment? Then you might be the Senior IT Project Manager, we are looking for in our newly established Global IT PMO in our corporate headquarters in Randers!

 

Global IT is responsible for developing, implementing, and operating IT across the Danish Crown Group. Within Global IT, we are more than 290 colleagues allocated in Denmark, England, Sweden, Poland, Netherlands, Germany, and China, and around 150 have their work base at the HQ in Randers. You’ll be part of our IT Project Management Office (PMO), which develops and sets the standards for Danish Crown project management going forward. 

 

Get a visible role and lead highly complex IT projects
As a Senior IT Project Manager, you will lead highly complex projects within and across Business Units and Group Functions. Likewise, you will lead other projects with various degrees of complexity and project teams of various sizes, holding the responsibility for leading and motivating both medium and large-sized project teams, including both highly technical specialists and non-technical employees. In Danish Crown we have just started our Agile journey hence, you – as a Senior IT Project Manager – shall be able to work in both waterfall inspired and Agile projects with differing degrees of maturity. 

 

In general, you will be responsible for having a structured focus on “the big picture” when it comes to project deliverables and interdependencies. As a Senior IT Project Manager, you will ensure that the team is focused on delivering business value while being responsible for the project’s compliance with company standards and procedures. You will have a visible role in the organisation and be an ambassador for the Danish Crown project management toolbox to ensure successful accomplishment of value-driven priorities and on-time delivery.

 

Furthermore, your tasks will include:

  • Supporting the Product Owner/Business Owners in managing communications with stakeholders, managing customer’s expectations for deliverables, and implementing an effective project governance system.
  • Support the Product Owners/Business Owners in refining and prioritize features to ensure as short time to value for the business as possible.
  • Empower workstream leads to deliver Projects/tracks into the overall objectives of the project.
  • Helping the team achieve a high level of performance and quality, holding teams accountable for their work, removing obstacles, and mentoring less experienced team members.
  • Provide daily leadership for the project teams and ensure they reach KPI’s.
  • Developing and monitoring budgets, including managing project scope and changes 
  • Provide needed status reporting regarding project success criteria, milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks, and issues, communicating across leadership layers
  • Monitor, track, and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables, including retrospectives and post project evaluation.
  • Being a frontrunner for increased project maturity across the Danish Crown Group, contributing actively to defining and developing the project excellence strategy and standards.

 

Your primary workplace will be in the Danish Crown HQ in Randers, however an estimated amount of 30-60 travel days must be expected per year.

 

Experienced Project Manager with solid stakeholder management skills
You hold a Project Management Professional certification and have multiple years of experience from the Project and IT Project Management domain and preferred you have knowledge within one or more technical/functional areas & disciplines. Likewise, you have people management experience and are used to leading larger projects, including coaching, and delivering feedback to project team members. In addition, you have extensive experience with facilitating steering committees, based on a solid understanding of their responsibilities and you possess outstanding organizational skills, especially the ability to prioritize and facilitate decision making in a complex environment. You are capable of navigating in change and showing a comfort with quickly changing priorities, plus a highly developed adaptability.

 

You have experience with agile project management and strong familiarity with various Agile and Scrum elements, including Agile planning, Agile project management, it would be considered positive if you can showcase certifications that provide understanding of, and competencies within, leading Agile projects, such certifcations could be; Leading SAFe, SAFe Scrum Master, AgilePM or others. You are self-driven but work proactively with sparring and knowledge sharing. You are structured with excellent planning skills and a strong focus on delivering best-in-class results.
