DNK-Randers, Danish Crown Vej

IT MES Business Consultant

Are you business centric and solution-oriented?  Do you want to take part in making production improvements by optimising the utilisation of IT in our factories and translate their needs into codes & programming? If so, you might be our new IT MES Business Consultant.

We welcome candidates at various levels to apply, as we are casting a wide net and seeking multiple individuals for our positions. Whether you're an experienced consultant or a recent graduate, there are opportunities available for you.

Production is a part of Danish Crown’s Global IT department in our headquarter in Randers. Global IT operates as a global IT competence centre for both new and existing solutions and has 300 colleagues located in Denmark, Poland, Sweden, and Germany where approximately 200 colleagues are located at our head office in Randers.

You will become part of an agile product team, where the focus is on optimising already implemented Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), combined with implementing innovative solutions and technologies. In our product team, 13 dedicated consultants and developers are working closely together creating the best possible solutions for our internal customers.

Agile IT consultant, who will operate close to the business

As a consultant your focus is aimed at analysing, specifying, and implementing solutions in dialogue with the business, developers, and architects. You will be the focal point for implementation, dialoguing, and mediation, where your technical insights can balance between automation (PLC/SCADA), business, production, software solutions and interaction with SAP.

Our focus is on supporting and implementing MES solutions across more than 60 production sites. In this process, we need to ensure added value and standardisation and ensure local support and efficient knowledge sharing across the organisation. You will be the connection between the business, and product teams within Global IT and possible suppliers, where you will actively participate in the development and adoption of the department’s methods and solutions.

Your tasks will include:

  • Participate in projects and major/minor changes, from POC to full product deployment
  • Prepare specifications and implement solutions in production in an open dialogue with colleagues and local users
  • On-site factory analysis, training, and implementation
  • Participate in test and verification of our deliverables
  • Ensure that the solutions function correctly according to scope
  • Facilitate hand-over to Operations (HOTO)

There is a need for flexibility, as projects will occur where physical presence will be required. Expected travel time is between 30-40 days a year to visit productions sites in Denmark and abroad.

Do you have what it takes?
The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree in IT/Communication, Business Administration/Management, or a related field and professional experience. This includes:

  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills and the ability to build a robust network within the organization
  • Experience working for an IT-consultancy and/or a global corporate company with functional expertise in the area
  • Ability to simplify complexity and communicate effectively
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills for extracting logic, insights, and meaningful conclusions from complex business IT-related problems
  • Excellent communication skills for structuring documents and quantitative analyses, translating them into programming interaction – from What to How.

A 'can-do' attitude ensures proactive action in a fast-paced environment. Be an ambassador who motivates and inspires your colleagues, stakeholders, and Danish Crown. Additionally, you should be able to balance the needs and requests of your different stakeholders. Lastly, it would help if you communicated effortlessly in English, and preferably also in Danish.

For the right candidate, the role holds significant opportunities for development, which can result in larger and more cross-functional tasks and projects within Production Global IT.
