Are you ready to lead and influence tax strategy in a dynamic, international company? We are looking for a Head of Tax to join our Group Tax department and drive excellence across national and international tax matters.
Danish Crown is going through a truly exciting transformation as we adjust to the ever-changing world and markets around us. We adhere to an important set of Leadership Principles, which include Trust (We fight every day against the "zero-mistake culture" and accept that mistakes are part of our professional and personal development journey) and Talent (We always select the strongest team, prioritize diversity, and dare to hire people who are more skilled than we are).
A highly skilled tax professional with a people mindset
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled tax leader to take full ownership of Group Tax operations in a dynamic international environment. In this role, you will lead a team of 7 highly skilled professionals in all aspects of tax strategy and compliance, including national tax and cooperative taxation in Denmark, transfer pricing, international tax, as well as indirect taxes such as VAT and energy duties.
A key part of the role is maintaining direct dialogue with Danish tax authorities and handling complex cases independently, as our team is small and operates broadly across the tax spectrum.
You are successful in this position if you quickly understand our complex organizational structure, combine your strategic tax mindset with hands-on execution, and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
You will also:
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior management and global business units
- Drive strategic tax planning, identify opportunities for optimization, and proactively address potential risks
- Engage with external authorities on tax matters, including those related to mergers and acquisitions
- Oversee tax audits and manage relationships with tax authorities, both in Denmark and globally
- Support automation and process optimization within tax reporting and compliance
- Represent Group Tax in cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives.
We are looking for a strong leader who combines technical expertise with exceptional interpersonal skills:
- Proven experience in a senior tax leadership role within an international organization.
- Deep knowledge of corporate tax, transfer pricing, international tax, and indirect taxes.
- Structured and analytical mindset with the ability to manage complexity and deliver high-quality results.
- Empathetic and collaborative approach, fostering trust and engagement across teams and stakeholders.
- Strong leadership skills, capable of motivating and developing a high-performing team.
- Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex tax issues clearly and act as a trusted advisor to senior management.
- Fluent in Danish and English (written and spoken).
Expect maximum 20 travel days per year.
We are establishing a new hub in Copenhagen, and this position can be based there. However, it requires physical presence at our HQ in Randers three times per week.
