Category Manager CapEx MRO Spare Parts/Services and Energy

Are you an experienced Category Manager working across different Business Units and are you motivated by further professionalizing procurement of your own category, and do you create great relationships with both suppliers and internal stakeholders? If you can answer yes to the above then you have the chance to become part of Group Procurement in Danish Crown, where there is great opportunity to influence the development of the CapEx MRO and Energy Category.

You will be part of Group Procurement department, where we are 50 committed and skilled colleagues, located in different locations in Europe. Group Procurement is responsible for optimizing all non-meat spend across Danish Crown.
From the head office in Randers, you will be part of a great international team of skilled and committed colleagues, where a good work environment and professional sparring is important, but where there is also room for fun. You’ll get a job where personal and professional development is paramount in an exciting and changing international company.

Take a seat at the table and drive complex sub-categories through procurement excellence
Your main role is to facilitate internal alignment on strategy, projects, and activities, combining this with solid category expertise, especially within CapEx (particularly in equipment), MRO and/or Energy and hereby achieve significant value creation for Danish Crown. This means that you have an important task in ensuring good internal alignment, improving value creation and supplier relationship management.

More specifically you will:

  • Co-develop and carry out sourcing strategies and category plans with key stakeholders including Procurement Business Partners, Engineering/Technical Depts and Project Managers
  • Handle and carry out sourcing projects for CapEx MRO and/or Energy
  • Hedge energy requirements according to the strategy and make sure the business has the correct energy strategy in place, particularly when markets are turbulent
  • Be part of the sustainability agenda and the change to green energy (through Purchase Power Agreements for example)
  • Be responsible for negotiations, contracting, supplier management & optimization, and performance management
  • Use standard methodologies globally
  • Be accountable for Category KPIs (e.g., PO compliance, supplier reduction, value creation, Payment terms, contract coverage)
  • Risk Management

You will have a wide range of internal and external stakeholders as this is a Group level position, and you will support our business units internationally with suppliers located all over the world. Therefore, there will be some international travel when required.

We envisage you to be curious and having a good commercial and analytical skillset. Equally, you should have a commercial education combined with several years of experience from a similar role, where you have a proven history from several disciplines within either CapEx, MRO and/or Energy. This should also include having an extensive knowledge and insight into the Total Cost of Ownership for the Category. You have Category Management experience from an international company and experienced in setting a category strategy. You possess solid project management and sourcing process management skills and have the capability to effectively lead and deliver on multiple projects.

You enjoy working within a structured sourcing model including specific tools and templates and are skilled in PowerPoint and Excel. You speak and write English at negotiating level. As you are participating in a major transformation journey within Group Procurement in Danish Crown, it is important that you are motivated by change. You thrive in a changing culture, where you often will be dependent on your good communication skills to ensure that we are going in the same direction. You are good at building and maintaining internal and external relationships and can effectively interact with people at various levels of the organisation.
Finally, you value being part of a procurement team supporting team achievements and a motivating team culture.
