Cat. Manager, SRM focused - direct material packaging & food 

Are you looking for a new opportunity to take your category management skills to the next level? Look no further! We are currently seeking a motivated category manager to set new directions, create effective strategies, and build solid relationships with both suppliers and internal stakeholders.


Danish Crown Group Procurement is changing direction into a much more SRM (Supply Relational Management) focused approach towards our biggest suppliers and therefore we are looking for skilled new colleagues with solid SRM experience that can be an important part of creating a more SRM focused team. A team that can lead Danish Crown and some of our biggest suppliers into even stronger and more successful cooperations. 


As a key member you will become part of Group Procurement, where we are 50 highly committed and professional co-workers. 40 of us are placed in HQ Randers and 10 in Krakow, and you will get a job where personal and professional development is paramount in an exciting and changeable international company. 


You take ownership of your own category
We have two open Category Manager positions, one for Foods and one for Packaging, and we are looking for two independent managers who can represent the categories, ‘Functional ingredients, milk based, wheat based, starches, eggs and artificial casings‘ or ‘Packaging – Labels, PE products, stretch films and misc. packaging‘.


With steady hands you build and develop the categories and run various efficiency and optimization projects, combined with managing suppliers and agreements. With your natural data approach, you gather and evaluate data with focus on which projects and strategies should be implemented.


Your primary tasks will be:
•    Strategic procurement
•    Develop and execute on category strategy
•    Build and maintain strong SRM programs with key suppliers
•    Develop and energize Supplier supported development programs
•    Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners and suppliers through effective relationship management
•    Develop and strengthen ESG development with main suppliers.


You will work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, meaning you are communicating clearly and engaging. The category responsibility covers the business units in Denmark, UK, Germany, Sweden, and Poland. 


Experienced Category manager with great skills 
You have a commercial education, a MSc Merc, Trade diploma or other relevant training, and minimum 5-8 years of strategic Procurement and 5 years of SRM experience e.g., as Category Manager, Sourcing Manager, Vendor Manager, or similar positions where you can display solid results within procurement, category management and supplier relationship management. 


You are experienced in preparing and fulfilling a category strategy combined with solid competencies within negotiation and contract management. 
You work data driven with a strategic focus and appreciate working with procurement models and Power BI and you are familiar with PowerPoint and Excel.
You will run your category in close collaboration with stakeholders in the business. Furthermore, well-defined models, templates, and tools will assist you in structuring your work.

The ideal candidate has a solid business understanding and great skills in Supplier Relationship Management, Contract Management and Supplier Innovation and is highly experienced in cross-functional collaboration. Furthermore, if you have experience with complex data management are result-oriented and strong-willed with a high level of energy and an optimistic mind, it´s close to being the ideal match.
