DNK-Randers, Danish Crown Vej

Business Consultant - Global IT, Production & MES

Do you see yourself in a key role where you connect people, processes, and IT to drive business-critical change? If so, you might be our next Business Consultant.

Production IT is part of Danish Crown’s Global IT department, headquartered in Randers. Global IT operates as a global IT competence center for both new and existing solutions, with more than 270 colleagues located in Denmark, Poland, Sweden, and Germany – approximately 150 of whom are based at our Randers HQ.

Success starts with a team

You will join a team of consultants and developers who work with the systems that keep our production running smoothly. These systems are essential for ensuring strong data quality and full traceability, helping turn complex operations into clear and useful insights. We are on a journey to simplify and standardise our production IT landscape, and you will play an important role in shaping that direction together with the team.

At Danish Crown, we put people first. We aim to match roles and responsibilities with individual strengths and ambitions, so that everyone can grow and succeed. You will be part of an informal but professional environment built on trust, respect, responsibility, and a positive way of working together.

A strong advisor with great interpersonal skills

You’ll act as a trusted advisor, creating strong relationships across our global organization. You’ll work closely with business stakeholders and developers to shape solutions that make smarter ways of working on the shop floor, while creating transparency through data.

With sustainability, digitization, and operational excellence at the core, Danish Crown is undergoing an ambitious business transformation. Our department is the go-to partner when we innovate in one of our 50+ production sites - whether it's introducing new processes or technologies, increasing automation, replacing legacy systems, enhancing traceability with data, or tackling other complex challenges. We take ownership from start to finish - analyzing needs, proposing solutions, creating functional descriptions, and delivering full-scale development and implementation.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Lead business critical MES projects and ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions
  • Act as the link between business and IT, creating shared understanding and clear expectations
  • Facilitate workshops and challenge both business and technical perspectives to reach the best outcome
  • Translate business needs into clear requirements for development teams
  • Build strong system understanding and work hands on with configuration and setup of MES solutions
  • Analyze data and create clear overview to support decision making and process improvements
  • Use SQL and data tools to extract, validate, and understand data across systems
  • Define and support reporting to ensure reliable and meaningful business insights
  • Plan and execute testing with users and developers to secure quality and business value
  • Drive change management, training, and adoption while continuously improving processes and ways of working

Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate is someone who demonstrates strong interpersonal and empathetic skills, enabling you to understand diverse needs, build trust, and foster engagement across specialists, developers, production personnel, and top management. You are equally confident navigating both strategic and hands-on tasks within a production IT environment and possess the ability to translate business needs into IT solutions that deliver genuine value.

You thrive in cross-functional teams and collaborative settings, maintaining focus and commitment even when change demands patience and alignment across multiple stakeholders. With a proactive mindset, you take ownership and drive progress - even in situations where not everything is clearly defined.

Experience in process analysis, IT development processes, or production IT (MES) is a clear advantage. You might also have a keen interest in exploring technical solutions, including IT/MES and OT systems such as PLC and SCADA.

We require you to be fluent in both English and Danish, while German language skills are considered a plus, though not mandatory.

You can expect approx. 10-30 travel days as projects require on-site presence.

What do we offer?
We offer flexibility in work hours and place, autonomy, and the chance to work in a team with great ambitions to digitalize and improve the shop floor. We care about your growth and career goals, and we’ll have an active focus on supporting your development.

We value a flat and informal culture where all voices matter and contributions are expected and appreciated – because the best solutions are created together. You’ll have the opportunity to influence and shape our production processes and how they are supported by IT.

Our modern HQ in Randers offers excellent facilities, including a fitness center, two padel courts, a food shop, and a great canteen with high-quality food (unsurprisingly!).
