Category Manager, Support Materials 

Are you experienced within the field of category management and are you motivated by leading larger projects and independently developing and carrying out on strategies concerning the category you are responsible for? Are you creating solid relations to both suppliers and internal stakeholders? If yes, you now have the opportunity to becoming part of Group Procurement in Danish Crown.     

You will become part of Group Procurement, where there are 60 committed and professional co-workers, placed in different locations across Europe. Group Procurement is responsible for optimizing everything within the non-meat spend.

You take ownership of your own category
In this position we search for an independent Category Manager who can lead the category, ‘Support materials and consumables’, which covers, for example, protective equipment, shoes, hand knives among other materials that can be used in the production. 
With steady hands you drive the category and run various efficiency and optimization projects, combined with managing suppliers and agreements. With your natural analytical approach, you gather and evaluate data with focus on which projects and strategies should be implemented.

Your primary tasks will be:

  • Together with your appointed project team to develop a strategy for your category
  • Independently plan and carry out on the strategy for the category
  • Implement sourcing-projects in your category
  • Effectively be a sparring partner in the team, where best-practices are shared
  • Prepare tender material and complete supplier negotiations
  • Develop and optimize the category and the supplier relations

You will work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, meaning you are communicating clearly and involving. The category responsibility consists of covering the business units in UK, Germany, Sweden, and Poland. Therefore, you may expect 15-20 travel days a year.

Experienced Category Manager with great skills within project management
You have a commercial education and several years of experience from a similar position as, for example, Category Manager, Sourcing Manager, Project Manager, or similar positions where you can showcase solid results within purchasing, category management, and project management.

You have experience in preparing and fulfilling a category strategy combined with solid competencies within project management, where you, in a structured manner, ensure the project group and steering group are guided throughout the process from brainstorming to the implementation.

You appreciate to work with purchasing models and are used to PowerPoint and Excel. Negotiation and contract management are also well known.

You will run your category in close collaboration with stakeholders in the business. Furthermore, well-defined models, templates, and tools will assist you with structuring your work.

We expect that you:

  • Have experience in complex data management and has solid analytical skills
  • Have a solid business understanding
  • Are a strategic thinker
  • Communicates effortlessly in English and Danish; both oral and written
