Quality Assurer 

Do you have experience of working in food manufacturing, a great eye for detail, a hands-on approach and confident with communicating with colleagues at all levels?  We are looking to recruit a Quality Assurer for our production facility in Whitefield Manchester.   Initially, this will be on a 2 year fixed term contract.

 

At our BRC-approved production facility in Manchester, our skilled butchers create bespoke specifications to give chefs a point of differentiation in a competitive market. We also are one of the biggest processors of hand cured bacon and pork products all which is done at our Manchester Site. We sell to some of the major UK retailers, wholesalers and restaurants. Working in the Food Safety team, you will be working to ensure the site is maintaining the Food Safety and Quality standards across the product range, the site maintains its high hygiene and housekeeping standards and ensuring our products reach our customers to the high quality they expect from us.

 

Responsibilities include;

  • Carrying out quality checks on incoming and report the findings to management and customers a
  • Completing site audits as required.
  • Performing routine checks and verification tasks: metal detector checks, temperature checks, probe and scale verification, chemicals titration checks.
  • Collecting, registering and sending out samples of products for lab testing.
  • To maintain control of the quarantined and non-conforming products and provide traceability of reworked/returned goods.
  • To supply batch control information to production as required.
  • To be the primary point of contact for day to day factory quality issues.
  • To provide support to Production and the Technical Manager as required. Includes participation in for traceability studies, on-site audits etc

We are looking for someone with experience of working in a food production facility and in a similar role in the Quality, Food Safety or Technical teams.   You will need to have strong written and verbal communication skills, and be able to use Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.

 

Hours of work will be 06:00 – 15:30 Monday to Thursday and 06:00-16:30 on Fridays
