Engineering Manager | Bugle

You will lead the engineering infrastructure and site projects to ensure our production lines remain operational and efficient in a fast-paced environment.

What you will be doing

As the Engineering Manager, you will manage the engineering shift supervisors and the wider team to deliver day-to-day requirements while overseeing major site installations and commissioning. Your focus will be on maintaining production targets through proactive maintenance and swift response to situational demands.

  • Operational Leadership: Oversee the site’s daily engineering function, ensuring all plant equipment and power systems maintain maximum uptime with minimal interruption.
  • Project & Budget Management: Lead the end-to-end delivery of large-scale production projects, managing technical documentation, compliance, and project budgets within defined timeframes.
  • Team Development: Drive a culture of high performance by upskilling the engineering team, ensuring KPIs are achieved, and maintaining the highest safety and environmental standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify ways to optimise production performance, investigate new technological developments for equipment replacement, and reduce waste streams.

What you will bring

We are looking for a resilient leader who can balance the technical rigours of food production with the ability to manage complex projects and diverse teams. You should be a subject matter expert capable of translating technical information into actionable goals for the wider business.

  • Experience: You possess 5–10 years of relevant engineering knowledge and 2–4 years of managerial experience, ideally gained within a fast-paced food production industry.
  • Hard Skills: You hold relevant engineering qualifications and possess a broad knowledge of all engineering disciplines, including food and manufacturing legislation and HAACP safety requirements.
  • Soft Skills: You are a strong people manager with the ability to develop influential relationships with stakeholders and the flexibility to adapt to unexpected production demands.

Why join us

By joining the Bugle team, you are stepping into a culture where pride and ownership are at the heart of everything we do. Our engineering team doesn't just fix problems; they own them. You will have the autonomy to drive real operational change and the opportunity to collaborate with a network of experts across multiple sites to deliver the best possible outcomes for the business.

This role offers a unique opportunity for an ambitious leader to make a visible impact on our site’s growth and sustainability. You will be part of a senior leadership team that values your expertise and encourages you to "lean out" in pursuit of better results. Here, your career growth is tied to our collective success, providing a platform where your leadership style can truly shape the future of our production facility.
